When life gives you lemons...

As a kid, I was always told "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade" - this adage was meant to encourage me to make the best of bad situations. However, as I got older, I began to realize that some bad situations stayed BAD no matter how hard I tried to make them better. Failure to turn these negatives into positives made me cynical, and where I once made lemonade, I began to add tequila - both literally and figuratively. Lol!

Oftentimes, when we can't make a situation better, we let our actions make it worse. It took the whole of my 20s for me to see how destructive I can be when I encounter a problem with no discernible solution. Motherhood curtailed the worst of those decisions. Being a mom grounded me. Even in the midst of chaos, I always knew I had to be the best version of me for him!

And then - I fell in love! I relocated to the other side of the world and days once filled with clutter, became days consumed with learning more about me.

11 years a mommy, 9 years abroad, 6 years married, 5 years living with PCOS, 2 years of self-care, 10 months mommy of 2...

Now when life gives me lemons, I go to Starbucks in hopes my favorite barista is there and I drink Black Tea Lemonade.

Life isn't always easy, but it's always better with tea.
