Woman Care Wednesday
Like most Moms, most of my days are spent mommy-ing. Then there's wife-ing....and of course working! It's so easy to get lost in the day-to-day, that sometimes I forget to give the woman in me the attention she deserves.
I'm new to self-care, but I'm learning that it comes in many forms. The hardest part is often realizing that same way I make time for kids, husband, and my job - I have to be willing to invest the same time into myself. It's not enough to get a manicure and pedicure on occasion.
So here is what my self-care looks like....
mornings dedicated to the gym • learning a new language • baths by candlelight • dedicated writing times • dancing more • more days with my phone on silent • singing more • saying no more often • speaking kindly to myself daily • date nights • monthly massages• more sleep • better skin care • more water • more travel • more experiences
I've learned that the better I take care of self, the better I am for those closest to me.
Self-care is not selfish.
Ok, back to mommy-ing - dinner won't cook itself!
