A Good Time, Not a Long Time

So……I FINALLY LEFT KUWAIT! I know, I know, I know, most of you thought I was going to be there forever, but no! The family and I had long outgrown living in Kuwait, and a change was way overdue. Good, Bad, Crazy - Kuwait was full of lessons! I’m happy we made it out without me catching a case! LOL.

As one chapter ends, another begins.

In April of this year my job offered me the opportunity to take on a new role in a new country. I can be honest and say, I didn’t jump at this initially. I’d JUST relocated back to the states, the boys and I were settled, and the hubs was on his way home! We were finally gonna get to do US living as a family - but then opportunity knocked. A few serious conversations, and a whole lot of tears later, I was getting off a plane SOLO in Doha, Qatar.

Everything about this move has been growth for me. I’ve never truly been lonely before, so I’ve had to learn how to navigate the quiet. All I’ve know for the last 16 years is being a mom and wife - now, those things have taken a back seat to me just being Sharee. I am having to go to depths with myself - re-learning me. I’m breaking walls I forgot I’d built. I’m removing the ashes of things that are dead off of my minds mantle. (Also can we just talk about how sometimes we hold on to traumatic experiences under the guise of “I don’t want to forget, so I can remember the signs”, all the while you’re literally living in a cycle of re-traumatizing yourself every time you revisit those moments!?! No just me…ok never mind.)

I’ve always spoken growth into my professional advancement, and so far - every move made in the last 3 year has been for my good. Seeing how I really do like what I’m doing these days, I don’t plan on staying at my level forever. I absolutely believe that there is purpose in me being so far away from everyone right now, and when my task is accomplished, this chapter will close, and I’ll be off to my next experience closer to home.

Bottom line is - I’m trying to make the most of every single day that I’m in this place because I know, I’m only here for a good time, not a long time.
